The ARCHIVE CD is the disc of choice for museums, libraries, professional photographers, stock agencies and corporate image collections. The ARCHIVE CD combines the best features of the well established Kodak Photo CD with the higher quality of modern scanning systems.

These very high resolution scans are saved as uncompressed TIFF files (the international standard for high quality images) along with a smaller JPEG file. Other file types are available on request. Dynamic range and sharpness are extremely high.

Custom, sequential filenaming and file structures on the disc are included in the service. This can save you a lot of time in renaming, and can help you if the image files are to be included in an image database or website. Watermarking is also available to help communicate copyrights and track usage.

*File sizes are approximate and vary with aspect ratio of original material being scanned. These sizes are for uncompressed TIFF files. JPEG files are also included on the disc. These are nominally 6mb in size but we can customize that for you.

FILE TYPES
The ARCHIVE CD includes two different file sizes for each image scanned. One file is the full size listed in the above table. The other file is generally smaller. We offer the following file types for either or both of the files: TIFF, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG.

We can also provide the scans as Kodak Photo CD Image Pac files in Kodak's proprietary YCC colorspace. Maximum filesize is limited to approximately 60mb for Kodak Photo CD Image Pac files.

VARIATIONS
ARCHIVE DVD - Same scans written to DVD-R media; 6x the capacity of CD
ARCHIVE HD - We can write these scans directly to your hard drives. Great for large archive projects where the image files are to be immediately imported to a database or online management systesm. Can save many hours of transfer time from optical media (CD and DVD).

OPTIONS
CROPPING - Crop to image, edge crop for clean border, custom cropping as specified
COLOR CORRECTIONS - Color, density, contrast and saturation can be adjusted to match a sample or simply to improve a faded image.
